HOW TOUCH DISPLAY WORKS




Hello friends, my name is Arjun Gupta and today we learn about "HOW TOUCH DISPLAY WORKS".

Introduction-

The present state of technologies in the world of electronics is that every electronic product got the touch display, which helps to operate this thing with ease. But have you wonder, how the touch display works, if yes, then great but if no, then do not worry, this blog will help you to learn, how to touch display works.

The touchscreen is an input device so it should be combined with a computer and display device. Touchscreen basically includes-

--> Touch screen sensor
-->  Controller
-->  Software driver

What are the different types of technologies used in touch screen are:-

1.  Resistive touchscreen
2.  Capacitive touchscreen
3.  Surface Acoustic Wave(SAW)
4.  Infrared led touch screen

Resistive touchscreen



The resistive touch screen is made up of several flexible layers coated with the resistive material. When you apply pressure on the screen with your finger or any other pointing device, when layer get touched to each other and form an electrical circuit, which is captured by the sensors present in the touch screen and tell the figure out where the touch is happening, this resistive touch screen is less efficient when compare with capacitive  touchscreen.


Capacitive touchscreen





The capacitive touchscreen have a transparent capacitive conducting material Indium Tin oxide is the transparent conductor used in the capacitive touchscreen. When we touch the screen, the electrostatic field on display got interrupted. Thus, it gives data to the processor to interpret where the user touches the screen. The capacitive touch screen is more efficient when compare it with the resistive touch screen.


Surface Acoustic Wave(SAW)



In SAW touch screen technology, the ultrawave is passed over the display and when we placed our finger on the display, then the portion of the wave is absorbed. So when the change in the wave, thus the position of the touch is marked and the information is sent to the processor, which detect the exact position of the touch.


Infrared Led touch screen


The IR LED touch display screen is based on the intersection of the light beam. The LED are placed in the horizontal and vertical manner, which enable to determine the exact location of the touch. This device can identify the touch of the finger or stylus, but in the case of the IR screen, they are sensitive to dust and moisture which can cause interference with IR beams. This is all about the Infrared Led touch screen.
